Lone Star State Culinary Tour -- May 12-16
Foodies, here’s a culinary tour that will get you packing your cowboy hats and boots: the Texas Toast Culinary Tours signature Road Trip – May 12 – 16.
The trip discovers the culinary side of Marfa, a city set between Big Bend National Park and the Davis Mountains, with fabulous modern art and the spooky home of the Marfa ghost lights. June Naylor, Texas Toast co-founder and an award-winning food/travel journalist, and co-founder Cynthia Wahl will lead you a movable feast that includes a gourmet picnic (provided by Lamberts Downtown Barbecue in Austin and Lamberts Steak, Seafood, Whiskey in Fort Worth) at Big Spring State Park; a food-and-wine-pairing event supper at Times Ten Cellars Cathedral Mountain vineyards; a cookout, campfire music session, and star party with local astronomers at El Cosmico; and a taste from each of the city’s top restaurants such as Maiyas and Blue Javelina.
You must register by May 1. The five-day trip, based on double occupancy, is priced at $595/person. What’s included: travel by luxury motorcoach, four nights’ accommodations, all meals with adult beverages, cooking class, admission to Big Bend National Park, and sightseeing.
