I'm not sure whether Mario Batali's Eataly is really a destination marketplace or whether it's simply a hangout for everyone interested in sampling Italian coffee, crudo, pizza, and meats, but it's wonderful, crowded gastronomy and fun all mixed up. Last week's flash mob performance of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" added another dimension to the food hall. Now, on to the more serious business of Lidia Bastianich's upcoming cooking school programs at Eataly.
Enjoy the video -- it makes me very happy that I live in New York. David Garrett, you're an awesome musician.
