Casual is the New Black Tie

I broke my own rule last week: I wore jeans to theater. And restaurants known for fine dining now accept jacketless diners and women in flip flops. Is this a product of the economy? Or global warming? Or a combination of the two? It's an interesting time, albeit a dressed down one. My birthday is in a week, tho, and I sure as heck will be celebrating in style.
